We call it home (2024)

Compressed and Depressed (2022)

Tardigrades (Eutardigrada) known colloquially as water bears or moss piglets are microscopic cosmopolitan metazoans found in permanent and temporal aquatic environments. They can compress them self into "tun" state — a survival mechanism where they curl up into shrunken, dehydrated balls and suspend their biological functions indefinitely in order to endure extreme environmental conditions – such as exposure to extreme temperatures, extreme pressures , air deprivation, radiation, dehydration, and starvation. They are first known animal to survive after exposure to outer space. Their hardiness inspires hope for post-apocalyptic life and the future of space travel. But new research suggests all is not well for the microscopic invertebrates here on Earth. Space radiation and freezing might not kill them, but our warming planet might be too hot to handle.

If a memory is recreated every time you remember it, then what is a memory? If what we remember changes as time passes, does that change our history?
